Stellar Odyssey patch notes & updates

Additions Founding a colony now starts a 48 hour cooldown for that economy. Logistics shortens it, and your first colony of each economy has none. The founding cost no longer goes up with your Population and Productivity skills.

Additions Market listings now keep using their inventory or catalyst slot until they sell, are withdrawn or expire. Listings now expire after 14 days and return to the seller. Everything already listed gets its 14 days starting today.

Bugfixes Fixed not being able to found a colony on a system claimed by a squadron. The only reservation left is the discoverer's 48 hours on a new private system. Fixed the system panel showing an empty "Claimed by" after traveling to a claimed system.

Bugfixes: * Hotfix for last minor patch 1.3.1.

Additions Private systems are now reserved for their discoverer for 48 hours: during that time only the discoverer can found a colony there. Public systems are never reserved, and the Found colony button shows who holds the reservation and until when.

Additions Added Colonization, see below. Halloween is here: the game is dressed up for the season, a free Halloween card background with its own bats is waiting in the Premium Store, and the Halloween chat icons are available too.

Colonization

Colonization arrives this weekend: found colonies on habitable systems, level six account-wide skills, hold off alien invasions and turn your Empire Power into an XP bonus.

Additions Added push notifications: in Profile > Notifications you can pick which alerts you get, the same ones as on Discord. On phones and browsers they arrive even with the game closed, and in the Steam client they show while the game is open.

Additions Added a /discoveries endpoint to the public API that lists a player's discovered systems, Voyager discoveries included. Bugfixes Fixed Player Damage and Player Health not refreshing on screen after equipping a different weapon or shield.

Additions Companions are here: collectible creatures that hatch from eggs, level up and boost your activities. Full details below.

Additions You can now leave the PvP Arena. While you are out nobody can attack you, you cannot attack anyone and you are left off the ELO ranking. Once you rejoin, you have to wait 7 days before you can leave again.

Additions Battling and gathering now tick every 12 seconds instead of every 60. Each action pays a fifth of what it used to, so what you earn per hour is exactly the same, the game just stops making you wait. The squadron board can be turned off.

Additions The Game API tab in your profile now shows your API key, a link to the API documentation and how much of today's request budget you have left. Bugfixes Fixed the public or private choice on expedition rewards being reset while you were picking.

Squadron board hotfix from last patch

Additions Squadrons now have a Board. The leader, or any rank with the new Board permission, can post a message of the day that every member sees highlighted in the Squadron chat, and the full history lives in the new Board tab.

SOS signals now run on fuel donations Getting stranded no longer depends on someone flying out to rescue you. Sending an SOS signal is now free. It stays open for one hour and is announced in the Help channel.

Base building

Base Building is live: your own base anywhere in the galaxy, eleven modules, five new Laboratory buildings, a new technology skill, and PvP gear upgrades unlocked.

Additions Discord now shows that you are playing Stellar Odyssey while the Steam client is open, with a session timer and links to the store page and the browser version.

Additions Four new squadron banners are on sale at the battlefield vendor: rabbit, horse, raven and pirate. New notifications and squadron messages now read in your own language. The ones already in your bell stay in English.

Your squadron now has a Discord bot There is a new Discord bot you can invite into your own server, separate from the one in the official server.

Additions On lasers and probes the Exploring catalyst profile now covers Voyager expeditions too, so one set of cosmic dust catalysts counts for both.

PvP Arena is here Battlefield has a new Arena tab from battling level 50. You get a list of rivals close to your rating, 10 attacks a day that reset at 00:00 UTC, and a 12 hour cooldown before you can attack the same player again.

Bugfixes Fixed your own chat messages disappearing from your screen while everyone else still saw them. Fixed not being able to start a fight against an NPC while your clones were fighting it in another system.

Additions New players now start with a normal weapon blueprint in their inventory. The crafting page has a guided tour that walks you through the categories, your blueprints, where new ones drop and what metal scrap is for. The inventory has filters and sorting.

Additions Now you can offer less than the asking price on any market listing, from the chat, the market tables or your own listings. The credits for an offer are held until the seller accepts or rejects it, and you can withdraw an offer at any time to get them back.

Additions The catalysts wiki article now covers the whole system and matches the game, in English, Spanish and Chinese. Bugfixes Fixed both premium subscription cards being disabled when you could only afford one of them.

Additions Blueprint and catalyst drops now appear in the item drop log, with their rarity and their slot or stat. The wiki has a new Daily Quests article, in English, Spanish and Chinese.

Additions The wiki is now readable on the website, with no account needed, in English, Spanish and Chinese. Bugfixes Fixed normal catalyst merges failing when the preview promised a 100% success chance.

Bugfixes Fixed the multi-crafting list showing up empty when you opened Crafting before your data finished loading. Fixed Hit, Dodge and the Amplifier counting squadron bonuses that a system claimed by another squadron cancels.

Bugfixes Fixed the Market showing the price you asked for instead of the price your order really traded at. A buy order at 10M filled by cheaper offers actually paid less, and your history and your own listings now show the real unit price, quantity and total.

Additions Added a "Highest NPC defeated" ranking to the battling list. Bugfixes Fixed the squadron chat not following your squadron.

Additions Public API documentation is now available at /api/docs. Each API key is limited to 50 requests per endpoint per day, reset at midnight UTC. Bugfixes Fixed a delay of one to two seconds every time you moved between sections. Navigation is instant now.

Bugfixes Fixed wiki links leaving the game client on a blank screen with no way back. The Reconnect button had the same issue and is now fixed too. Fixed the UI scale resetting after navigating between sections or restoring the window.
